Hi, I have set up a layout in a file called orders which has a portal on it, the file also has a relationship with a line items file. When I enter a id in the portal the other fields are filled in via a calculation, which is great. The problem I'am having is when I create a new order the data is still shown in the portal (line items). How can I clear this??

What shows or doesn't show in a portal depends entirely on the definition of the relationship that the portal is based on.

If data from a previous record still shows when a new record is created, one explanation would be that the key field in your 'orders' file for the relationship (that the portal is based on) to the 'line items' file has the "Auto Enter value from previous record" option enabled.

This is one possiblity, but there are various others, depending on exactly how the fields that the relationship to 'line items' is based on are set up...
