There was a very noticeable delay in portal hover effects and tooltip presentation so I tore the layout apart to find the cause. It turns out that none of the complexities had anything to do with it, so I thought I'd share the cause with you. I'm attaching 2 videos which unfortunately don't show the portal hover row background color, but you can see the tooltip delay, which is gone in the second video. The culprit was a gradient background (white on off-white) on the layout body. When I removed any background, the delay was eradicated.
