myODBC/mySQL and Filemaker

Hi there.

Some time ago I set up a one-way sync process for a client using Filemaker 5 and myODBC 2.5 to query and import data from a mySQL database. That works fine.

Now the client would like to have Filemaker insert/update the mySQL database. I wanted to pick this forum's brains and see if anyone else has had to set up this particular configuration, and what your requirements were. FM6? upgraded myODBC?

I guess I'm interested in answers to the following questions:

1. is modifying a mySQL db from FM feasible?

2. if so, what's the best configuration in terms of ODBC drivers, etc if not what I currently have?
