Hi guys, I have a (hopfully) question.

I made a Filemaker database that handles injury reports for a company. Now the report section of the database can be any amount of pages, for example, one report might be 2 pages and one might be 100. How do I print ALL contents of a field?

I've seen it done once.. in the Filemaker program OptiGold..

Please help smile.gif

Thanks,

-Matt

Place the report field on a layout and make it as long as the longest report is likely to be, then use the Format > Sliding/Printing... dialog to set the field to reduce (make sure you select the option to "Also reduce the size of the enclosing part").

If you have any objects below the field, you will have to set them to slide up based on all above (and "Also reduce..."), or you will get a lot of blank pages when you print.

Since in many cases the field will break across pages, you should set a custom line height (Format > Line Spacing > Custom) which is a few pixels more than standard for the font/size you are using, and then make sure that the body is an exact multiple of the line height you set. That way lines will not be 'sliced' when page breaks occur.
