Newbies cgstuff Posted October 19, 2002 Newbies Posted October 19, 2002 Now that Apple's new OS, Jaguar, gives the option of printing ANY file from ANY application as a PDF, I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to script this step? The print dialog box gives this option as a button, but, of course, it's not the default choice.
BobWeaver Posted October 21, 2002 Posted October 21, 2002 I think that in OSX, Filemaker scripts now save ALL page setup parameters. In OS9 and earlier, it only saved paper size and orientation. So, if you do it once manually, and then create a script, with the current page setup, it should (might?) remember it.
ldbarh Posted October 24, 2002 Posted October 24, 2002 that works sort of, if you turn the dialog off you don't get the chance to rename the file (pdf) before it saves. you don't even get a warning before it saves over the first pdf you printed.
BobWeaver Posted October 25, 2002 Posted October 25, 2002 You could use the Troi file plug-in, or Applescript to rename the pdf file immediately after it is created.
