Using FMPro 5.1 here on a network, A patient database has over 21,000 records and close to 40 templates that I've set up.

The administrative's assistant's computer (using Win98), has a list field that makes her scroll down one long vertical list of names whereas on the other computer (using Win95), when I click on that field, the whole list shows up in columns across the whole screen making it much faster to select an item vs scrolling down.

Can the Win95 display be duplicated on the other machine?

I believe that this is an operating system issue, because Filemaker has nothing in it to select the popup menu's display options.

You may want to look at using related value lists or some other means to reduce the number of items that show up in the menus.

Hmmm, I just got the same quirk, this time on OS 9.2

It's interesting that in another database viewed on the same machine this value list appeared without the scroll bar.

One option is to specify a popup menu rather than popup list.
