We have a Java based front end application (written in weblogic) accessing several FP5 files of a large 26 file Filemaker solution.

We are experiencing three problems.

1) Get many Error code [3] Unavailable Command

2) Get many Error code [803] Host cannot be found

3) Corruption of the JDBC accessed FP5 file and closing all the FP5 files but NOT Filemaker

The Filemaker solution continues to work flawlessly using the local Filemaker client interface. The customer is who accesses the data via the web application. (mentioned above)

According to Filemaker Inc. we have the latest JDBC driver

We are using:

Filemaker Server 5.5

Filemaker Unlimited 5.5v2

Web Companion 5.5v4

We have tried Web Companion 5.5v3 with no success

What has given the most success and the elimination of problems 1 and 2 above is going back to Filemaker 5.0v3 and Web Companion 5.0v6. However now problem 3 occurs much more frequently.

I have seen numerous postings on the bugs/slowness of the ODBC to Filemaker driver but very little on JDBC, I’m not even sure they are different in regards to how they talk to Filemaker. I understand the JDBC driver works through web companion but I have been unsuccessful in finding who wrote the plugin.

We are looking for help and remain willing to pay for a consultant to come on site and troubleshoot.

Thanks very much for an email response
