Portrait/Landscape

Featured Replies

Hi, im having problems setting certain layouts as Portrait and other as landscape. When I change the a layout to Portrait it changes all the layouts. I only want Portrait on one layout and I would like the rest to be Landscape, Is this possible?

Thanks For any advice.

Hi,

Layout and portrait settings are not linked to layouts, they are a function of the current settings which have been chosen for the file in Print Setup, and when you have a particular set of print options in place, they apply to the whole file, until you change them - and then the new set apply to the whole file.

There is, however, a way to store print set-up settings. If you create a script with the print-set-up script step in it, whatever settings were in place when the script was created will be saved with the script, and reinstated whenever it runs.

How this helps is that if you set up your database so that users always move between layouts by script, you can ensure that each script also restores appropriate print set-up settings (including either portrait or landscape orientation) at the same time as it takes the user to a particular layout. That way, from the user perspective, the landscape layouts will always appear to be landscape and the portraits will appear as portrait.
