Featured Replies

I need to Index an entire volume whit juste the pictures in a multiple folder or not but not the folder then I need the path and the name of the picture in Filemaker 5.5

Thanks

I'll assume that your statement above has an implicit question "How do I do it?"

Try one of the FMP plugins that specialise in handling images.

As you'd be aware, FTPit includes indexing capabilities at the level of individual directories/folders, but does not provide any means to completely automate the indexing of a whole disk.

You will, however, find that the Troi File plug-in has the ability to return lists of disks and folders as well as files. Thus it is theoretically possible to use a script to fully map the file hierarchy of a disk directory system (though this would be complex, involving the use of multiple nested loops to trace all possible paths).

If there is a plug-in that will return an entire disk index from a single external function, then I am now aware of it, but you might nevertheless like to do some research on your own account on sites such as FMplugins.com to see if you can turn up anything suitable.

Best to work from just one folder, so you can store one path and just add the names of the images you want. Then you can import folder. Better to have all your images together, not on different folders!
