Hi, I am trying to Export records from Excel and Import them into my FMP solution. The trouble I am having is that I get about 620 new records when in reality there are only 40 or 50 records.

In other words, I have no idea how to constrain those rows in Excel to only the ones with data. I have tried to set the print area etc. but I have no idea what the problem is. Has anyone figured this out? This is more of an Excel question than an FMP question, I am sure.

It should only import where there is data.

However, you can import from a range of data in FMPro 5.5 or greater. Create a range in Excel by highlighting the selected data you want to import and giving that set of cells a name (on the toolbar, where it gives you the Cell reference A1).

Then, when you import the data into FileMaker Pro, you can select the range.
