paulmetzger Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 When printing reports, I need to have at MOST one record displayed per page (one record could take up 2 and 1/3 pages, or just half a page). Right now some of the records are shorter than others (i'm using a portal that slides up if there aren't as many lines in it), resulting in two being on one page when I switch to preview mode. Is there a page break or something like that I can put on my layout?
PrincessJo Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Hi, I don't know any way of putting page breaks in with the portals, but as a work around you can try using subsummaries for printing. For many of my databases I view through the portals, but when it prints, it goes to the other file, sorts and then prints using the subsummaries. The subsummary has a 'page break at the end of each record' thing and does exactly what you've asked. Hope this helps some, Jo
BobWeaver Posted January 22, 2003 Posted January 22, 2003 Generally, if you need to include data from a portal on your printed report, you should be doing the printing from the related file where you will have many more formatting options such as summary parts and the ability to select how many records that can be printed before a page break. Theses options are selected from the layout part dialog.
