Newbies jimredfield Posted April 28, 2001 Newbies Posted April 28, 2001 I'm a newbie with FM, trying out the demo pursuant to purchase. Question is, once you've crafted a set of import mappings to use for importing data from another kind of database into FM, can those mappings be saved so they don't have to be recreated from scratch next time you want to repeat the import? If so, how? -- we can't find relevant instructions anywhere. Tnx -- Jim
Moon Posted April 28, 2001 Posted April 28, 2001 Easy to do with a script. Do your import and select the mapping you want. Then create a script that includes an Import Records step. Make sure that Restore Import Order is checked (it is checked by default). Specify the file you are importing from. Run the script and check the import order one more time. If it correct, you can go bac to the script and check the Perform Without Dialog box if you like. You will probably make use of this script step a lot as you progress in your development experience. Good luck and enjoy FileMaker!
