howto export the path of a contained picture

Featured Replies

I've created a file which has a container field in which a picture is stored. I need to export the record but I'm unable to export the container field. I do not want to export the picture itself but the path to the picture so that the other application which has to import the data can recreate the link to the picture. Is there anyway to do this? Since it's possible to insert a picture by "storing only a reference to the file", it means that the path to the file is kept somewhere? Can it be retreived?

AFAIK once ther image is "imported" into the container field, it's now part of the database. The only way to remember its path is for somebody to type it into a text field.
