Newbies kafclown Posted June 4, 2001 Newbies Posted June 4, 2001 Okay, I want to take a static database that I have and put it on the web. I've got 26 records (A-Z) I want each record to be a separate web page, with a next and forward button (at the top and bottom) (and possibly an A-Z map in the header. Ideally, it would use the layout that I currently have as a model. Is there an easy way to do this? I don't want the users to be able to change the found set or anything like that. I just want to manage the website data using filemaker pro, then export it to the web. If anything changes, I'd export the whole thing again. Any ideas on how to do this?
Pedro Posted June 4, 2001 Posted June 4, 2001 I think if you try to use the Web Companion plug-in and enable the Instant Web publishing option and select the ' Built-in' option for your Home-page it will do what you want....
Newbies kafclown Posted June 7, 2001 Author Newbies Posted June 7, 2001 Well, so far I haven't got it to work exactly right. I cobbled something together with a calc. field that makes the URL for each record and then I could export it 26 times, but it's still very clunky. At this point, it looks like my best bet is just to print the database to a PDF. This shouldn't be so hard...
Vaughan Posted June 8, 2001 Posted June 8, 2001 No No No, use the Web Companion to do it. Instant might be OK for that, otherwise get a copy of HomePage 3 and build some simple custom format files. (Yes I know HP3 NLA, but try and find it anyway. There *might* be a trial version on the FMP install disk.)
