Import from Remote computer with ODBC

Hi all,

I hope somebody can help me and can end my suffering for days. I have Mac and PC, and FileMaker 4.1 and 5. The task is to connect an Access database in a *remote computer* and import records to Filemaker file .

I have DNS address like (something.qqq.edu) and IP address of the computer with username and password. I have tried Mac with Filemaker 5 and no success. My File DSN configuration always crash ODBC control panel.

With PC Filemaker 5, I cannot connect the Access database and import . However, if I did ftp xxx.mdb file to my computer I can (seems to be) import. But I did it with Access driver in PC ODBC control panel Although 148kb Access file came up empty somehow!

Can Filemaker connect a REMOTE Access file and import data to a Filemaker file with ODBC or I have been trying for nothing?
