Steverino Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 All of a sudden, a script I've been using as gotten much slower (what once took seconds now takes about four minutes or so). The script creates a new record in another database, and copies fields from one database to the other. What might be messing things up? (Freeze window doesn't help fix the problem.)
Bob White Posted February 12, 2003 Posted February 12, 2003 Based on my past experiences, it sounds to me like the script is having trouble locating the "other" database. At least, that is the first thing that I would check. Is the relationship still in good shape relative to the location of the other file? If there is an open file step in the script, is the location it's pointed towards still correct?
Steverino Posted February 12, 2003 Author Posted February 12, 2003 I think you're right -- I guess the question is why Filemaker suddenly has trouble finding the file. The relationship was in good shape (I could go to the related record, and a script in which I switched to the other file worked perfectly); I needed to re-establish the external scripts within the script I was running. But I suspect that the problem will crop up again. Do you have any idea what could be happening?
