Newbies samantha Posted August 9, 2001 Newbies Posted August 9, 2001 Grr! I have a unique identifier in my database (I defined it as unique by: 'define fields, options, validation, select unique tick box). It works fine for data entry (i.e. say's I'm not allowed to duplicate id's in that field). But when I'm importing data, it'll allow my 'unique' field to have duplicate's in! Aargh! It took me hours yesterday to make sure that the right person had been allocated to the right company, as around 14 company's shared 'unique' id's!! Consequently, I have no faith that the right people are married up to the correct organisation. Does anyone know how to make the unique field option really work?! thanks A very frustrated Sam!
Moon Posted August 9, 2001 Posted August 9, 2001 Check out Capt Kurts FAQ on unique identifiers. His method assures virtually every record will have a unique ID.
