paulage77 Posted March 13, 2003 Posted March 13, 2003 Is there any way possible to have Filemaker export an actual carriage return within a single record. Am I spinning my wheels on the utterly impossible? Do I need to throw in the towel and make a Perl script do this for me?
Mike D. Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 Off the top of my head, you could probably paste a carriage return into a global field and then concatenate the global with a field in your record. HTH, Mike
paulage77 Posted March 14, 2003 Author Posted March 14, 2003 Problem is, carriage returns do not export from FileMaker. They are converted to tab-returns or something. FileMaker seems to only use a true carriage return as a record delimiator.
andygaunt Posted March 14, 2003 Posted March 14, 2003 You may require the use of a plugin like troi file which can manipulate an external file www.troi.com
paulage77 Posted March 17, 2003 Author Posted March 17, 2003 Wow! The file plug-in worked fairly well. Now to convince the powers that be to purchase some licenses.
paulage77 Posted March 19, 2003 Author Posted March 19, 2003 Does anyone know off-hand what the ASCII value of the character spit out by FileMaker when a paragraph or carriage return is specified. (It shows up as the little box)
