Importing from a repeating field

Im trying to import from a repeating field splitting the records into seperate records. However it seems to create records for the blank repeating fields as well as the full one. IE a repeating field that is set to 300 repeats is creating 300 records even though only two of the repeats are filled. This worked in FM4.1 I cant get it to work in FM 5. Any clues?
