bbaliner Posted March 16, 2003 Posted March 16, 2003 Hi all, I was checking out the ODBC drivers available for FileMaker in ODBC Administrator, and don't see what FileMaker Text Driver is used for. The others seem to be selfr explanatory: Oracle 8 driver is to connect to Oracle, althgough I don't know if it works with Oracle 9. SQL Server is also understandable. FileMaker Pro is probably a default for another app to connect to FileMaker Pro. But the text driver? Usually if an app won't work with FileMaker you'd export the data to a text file, and use Microsoft Text driver to connect to that text file. Is FileMaker Text Driver better for this purpose, or just another way to do the same thing? Your explanation is appreciated.
bbaliner Posted March 17, 2003 Author Posted March 17, 2003 Actually, it could be just another text driver, but from FileMaker and not Microsoft. The question is if it's better than MS text driver for creating DSN from FileMaker databases.
