export date formats and field names

Featured Replies

Hiya,

Can someone please advise me how to export field names with my tab file? Also, we Aussies generally use dd/mm/yyyy

format and have our local system set to that. However, I suspect our server is in the US mm/dd/yyyy format for date fields.

How do I have my date fields export in dd/mm/yyyy format as per the system settings? They currently export in mm/dd/yyyy

format which is a huge problem as there is no easy way to change this in excel.

Thanks in advance

JB

Never mind, found a way to do these two things. Export the file as a ".mer" file, this will bring the field

names I need. Also format export as current layout. Open the merge file in Excel. At step two of the import

wizard set the delimiters to tab and comma, text qualifiers to ". On step 3, set the date fields to MDY format.

The resulting excel display will show the dates in dd/mm/yyyy format as per the layout format and I get my field

names too.

:)
