Remote Administration Mac OS X to FM Linux Server

While I can find and access the Linux box

from the Go: Connect to Server in OS X,

I cannot get FileMaker 6.0 to find the Linux box,

which is running FM Server 5.5, via 'Hosts' button

or 'Open Remote' menu options.

Also, I can't run the 'fmserverd open' command

to host files in my Linux box. The 'open' command

is simply not part of the fmserverd script. I guess

the FM Server Manual is a bit outdated. It has commands

calling for the use of 'pico' which is not running on

this Red Hat Linux server (but 'vi' works just fine).

Can I presume the files are automatically hosted

without running the 'fmserverd open' command?
