Newbies popoy_man Posted April 17, 2003 Newbies Posted April 17, 2003 Hi, I am trying to send email from FileMaker to a Mac computer. But as soon as the email is received, the characters come out mistranslated on the receipient side (Mac). Here are some settings that were used: Charset: ISO-8859-1, Locale Table: Western. Can somebody please help me out. I asked my hosting company about the OS of the mail server and they said it's windows 2000. I hope these information helps.
cjaeger Posted April 17, 2003 Posted April 17, 2003 assuming you are using the send mail step: the mail text should transfer ok, since all the character translation in the mail text is done by your email client. Refer to your mail clients documentation. but not any text file attachment generated by filemaker. either send a FileMaker File or use xsl to generate a unicode text file.
Newbies popoy_man Posted April 17, 2003 Author Newbies Posted April 17, 2003 since the default charset for windows 2000 is unicode, can there be any work around on this? can i change the charset of FileMaker to unicode? Sorry for asking these questions because i am really new here.
