Hi, I am trying to send email from FileMaker to a Mac computer. But as soon as the email is received, the characters come out mistranslated on the receipient side (Mac). Here are some settings that were used: Charset: ISO-8859-1, Locale Table: Western. Can somebody please help me out. I asked my hosting company about the OS of the mail server and they said it's windows 2000. I hope these information helps.

assuming you are using the send mail step:

the mail text should transfer ok, since all the character translation in the mail text is done by your email client. Refer to your mail clients documentation.

but not any text file attachment generated by filemaker. either send a FileMaker File or use xsl to generate a unicode text file.
