controlling Quicktime outside filemaker?

Is there a plug in that will play a quicktime movie outside of filemaker so it can play in the background and not interfere with other applicatons that are active.

use appleevents to activate Movieplayer

(or the dde send message in windows)

must have path of movie stored in db, though.
