Printing Complete Field

Featured Replies

Hi all,

This is probalby a question that's been answered many times before, or maybe nobody else even needs to ask it, but here it goes:

One text field in my database is sometimes large, and sometimes small. With a vertical scroll bar, it's no problem at all, even if it goes to several pages. But when printing time comes, how do I cause it to print all the contents of the field, which can sometimes be several pages, sometimes only a paragraph.

Thank you for any help.

Caroline

Yes it's been asked before, but it's worth answering gain.

The trick is to make the field on the layout bigger than you ever expect to need, then use the "Sliding/Printing" command to shrink it when it is printed or previewed (note it does not slide in browse mode).

Thank you Vaughan! I've tried it an it works over a single page.

What however if the field could span over several pages!? Is it possible to extend a field over that amount?

Caroline.

It'll work over several pages -- up to 10, which is the limit of the length of a layout.

Just make the body part bigger, and size the fields or text boxes to fit.
