Slow Importing with FM 5.5

Featured Replies

We have been running FM Pro Server 3 for years with FM Pro 3.x and 4.x on various Windows and Mac platforms. The server was an old Mac 7200 machine. Recently we upgraded to FM Pro 5.5 all the way around and put the server on a new Mac G4.

We thought we would see a substantial improvement in performance, but we have been a bit disappointed. Of particular concern is the speed of imports. We have a time card database that we collect the labor data on a particular project by various technicians. When the project ends, we import all of that data into the workorder database. When the workorder is finished and ready to be invoiced, then data is imported into the Invoices database. Imports are done one record at a time (i.e. one time card record to one workorder record, or one workorder record to one invoice.) These imports now take about 15 times longer than they used to.

Any suggestions?
