Hi all,

I'm importing an Excel file and need to create a summary of a field that is text and not a number. I'm guessing this is possible but I just can't figure it out.

I can get a summary of a number in a field but not text.

IE: if the text in the field is 'GBP' or 'Euro' I need the DB to count how many of each there is.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Killer,

I have attached two files. One is an Excel file with 20 records and the other is a fileMaker showing (I think) what you wish to achieve.

When you have opened the FileMaker summary file go to the import feature and point to the Excel file. You will be asked to import fields or data. Choose data and make sure import criteria are ticked.

When you press button it goes to a report layout.... I think you get the idea
