Can I create custom user interfaces for Web Companion. The default themes are boring and I didn't find any info on the manual. Basically can I create a custom browser page for WebCompanion, or is it only possible on different versions of Filemaker? I'm not talking about the html page which loads first. I know I can use my own html page for that.

I think you mean for the Instant Web Publishing option, is that right? I think there is a tool available somewhere which allows the creation of FileMaker themes, but I don't know it's name or location. Perhaps someone else here will.

But if you want a fully custom look for the web pages, you might have to move away from Instant Web Publishing to CDML, where you program each page manually to look and act as you wish.

      OK,
I've looked several places for this info and have been frustrated to no end. Can someone please tell me how to start and stop a database remotely (via the web) when using FMPro 5 Unlimited and the Web Companion!!!

Can you run Server and Unlimited on one physical machine?
We need to serve a number of databases to internal users plus some of them to the web. We currently have a variety of FM Pro 3.x & 4.x clients connecting to a FM Pro 4 machine (_not_ 4 Server) that has the databases shared out and the Web Companion enabled. But we need the multi-threading of FM Server and also want to upgrade to 5.
Do we now need two physical servers, or can we stick with just one?
The server in question is a B&W G3 with 256 MB of RAM, ample disk space, etc. so we're not as worried about the machine's ability to handle both but of both software products to be able to co-exist.

I have published my database using CDML pages and I want each web address field to act as a link witch goes directly to the address contained in the field. Example of the HTML code on the search results page:
[FMP-FIELD: email] *how can I link this field to act as "mailto://(value in the field)"

[FMP-FIELD:web-address] *how can I link this to act as "http://(value in the field)"
Any help will be highly appreciated the dead line for these pages were yesterday and I need to get these features online as soon as possible. Thanks...

We are using Filemaker5 Unlimited currently as a web server along with Filemaker5 Pro Server as a site for our databases. Both computers are Macs. We are using Home Page 3.0 for Web interaction. How do we make our Web server site secure? This would be the first step to taking payments over the Web. I'm new at this, please help.

      Dear all:
I am facing the following problem: I am setting up a www-interface using CDML for the first time. I get the behavior I want, and everything works fine.
But there's one big question: In the CDML reference, I cannot find any tags that allow authentication of users using the FM-database built-in access privileges.
      Any ideas?
      Cheers,
      Ron
