Hello all,

I am having a problem with formatting numeric data for the web. The numbers come out on the web without commas. I have found a way around this using a script, however, according to one book (Database Publishing w/ Filemaker Pro on the Web by Maria Langer) I should be able to use a calculated field to format the field to produce a number with a thousand separator. What i have found instead though is that the script will work in the scriptmaker but will not work as a calculated field.

Why is this and what can be done about it? It would be so much easier using a calculated field.

thanks in advance,

Renee

I think there is an article about this on the FileMaker website, in their TechInfo section. Set up a calc field that formats the number as you wish, set it to a text result, then it can be used on the web. The calc is pretty long, so the best way to get it is with that article.
