Newbies Rex Havoc Posted August 12, 2003 Newbies Posted August 12, 2003 My company uses custom Acrobat PDF forms to distribute project updates. I would like to tie these forms into my departmental FMP project database to maintain accurate updates and billings. The PDF's do not originate from FMP. Importing/maintaining constantly updated info is the main issue. Seems like a unique ID is needed - does Acrobat generate a unique form id? I would greatly appreciate any direction on how to bridge this gap. Hate to sound like a newbie - but I am - at least with Acrobat.
andygaunt Posted August 12, 2003 Posted August 12, 2003 Hi, If you have FileMaker 6.x then you could check out this item found at the XML library by FileMaker http://www.filemaker.com/xml/xslt_library.html FMP to PDF/PDF to FMPDownload by Dean Westover Demonstrates how to auto-fill FileMaker data to a Acrobat PDF file. Auto-filled data can also be submitted from the Sample.pdf file back to the PDF_Filler.fp5 file. Both the PDF_Filler.fp5 and Sample.pdf files are unprotected. The author has only tested the package contents on the Windows platform. Another tester has reported that the files "worked well" on a Mac running OS 9.1.
