Upgrade to FMP6 on WinXP - Disappearing Elements

This is both a HELP request and a warning to other developers.

Situation

Machine Specs: P4 2.4GHz with 1GB RAM on XP Pro English

Upgraded both my FMP5.5 Japanese AND FMP5.0 English versions to FMP6 E and J respectively. Both Japanese and English version run on the same machine and have never had any problems doing this since FMPv2.

Problem

Using FMP6 opened db's made with or converted to FMP5. Went into layout mode to change a few things on the the tabbed interface.

1) The keyboard Combinations for unlock, lock, group and ungroup do not work, so have to use the buttons on the tool bar.

2) When the Unlock keyboard shortcut is used on any selected element they disappear. Actually, they are deleted and I cannot get them back except for the undo command.

Question

Has anyone else discovered this or know if there is a fix for it?

I have updated with the latest patch and still the problem exists. Going back to FMP5.5 there is no problem and the files are fine.
