Thank you all. I am a neophyte at Filemaker, so bear with me.

Our client administrators must select the type of envelope to mail their client's materials out to shareholders. There are 6 categories of envelopes. Under each category is a further list. I have created a field entitled "Envelope" on a form. When they tab to that field, I want to have a list drop down with the main categories. When they highlight the one they want, then the list for that category drops down, just the way it works in the menu bar at the top of any Windows application. I think this is a relationship.

I have created a separate data base with the the fields "Main Choice" and "Sub Choice" and entered every envelope in it. I am stuck. Where do I go here? I would appreciate your help.Thanks.

PS. Space is a real problem on the form they will be filling out, that's why I am trying to work the selection this way.

Well, I'm afraid not where you want to go.

Basically you need conditional value lists.
