Any script for user to enter and alter layout

Is it possible to let a user go in and alter layout set. Specially is there a need for custom set, to nudge some fields for printouts. With two different printers I get two different hights on some fields. On both Windows and Mac, is the same problem.

LaRetta once suggested making a separate database for this, so that you can let your users enter layout mode.
