Newbies herbertgergan Posted September 2, 2003 Newbies Posted September 2, 2003 I loss my images when i transfer my database from 1 computer to another. My images are linked to the database and even if I drag my whole folder over my network or save to cd and transfer that way the images go. Any idea's? I have over 9000 images so re-linking is not an easy option
BuddySystems Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Your "path" needs to be exactly the same between the old and the new. So the hard drive name and location of the files need to be exactly the same. For example, if you renamed to hard drive to "herbert", it would be: herbert:images, where the images are located in a folder called images that are in the hard drive called herbert.
Bob Minteer Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Are you using a MAC or PC ?? If you are using a Mac, I understand that there are some Apple Script techniques that can be used. If you are running a PC, you can use a couple of plugins such as InsideScan and FileToolBox. These and some scripting can help you to reconstitute your references and move files as needed. regards...
