Oldfogey Posted September 8, 2003 Posted September 8, 2003 I have just gone through a large portion of this forum looking at oddball print-spacing problems. The reason is that I recently encountered a really weird problem. A layout consists of (roughly) three rows of fields - two records per page. The data in the third row on the second (bottom) record prints with just the tip of the data showing above the bottom border. This happens on my cusomer's machine but not on mine. Modifying the vertical alignment (as recommended elswhere in the forum) had no effect. Eventually, I just moved the fields down a bit; this had the effect of moving the data in record 1 up a bit but fixed the bottom record. It was as though the field borders were independent rectangles. We measured the distance between the data rows in the top and bottom records - 2cm vs 2.5cm! Although various people have spent a lot of time coming up with workarounds in FMP, I am convinced it is not a FMP problem but a Windows and/or printer driver problem because I've struck the same thing with MS Word. Does anyone know for sure that I'm wrong? I'd love to hear ecause I'm about to go searching elsewhere. Paul J.

I'd say you are correct. Get updated or different printer drivers and see what happens. I'd also make sure the copy of FMP was updated to the latest patch too.
