HELP!

Hi eveyone! Im new to FMP and am having some trouble getting FMP6.0 to do what I'd like... am hoping one of you may be able to help me.

I have a field called "Status". The fields purpose is to monitor the status of work orders. I have the field type set as radio buttons, so the user can change between "Open", "Invoiced" and Closed.

What I would like to do is the following;

a. Somehow total up the total number of, open, invoiced and closed records within the entire database.

b. Summarise the total values associated with these records. ie. if a records status is "Open" then it will add itself to the "total open" records total. If a records status is "Closed" it will add itself to the "total closed" records total... and so on.

Im not sure if i can do this to the entire database of records overall, or if i have to "find" the records first? I would prefer to have a summary page that updated itself with this information dynamically.

I've chased my tail for days now, and can't seem to get my head around how I can make this work. I hope this isin't too over the top! Any help is most appreciated!

The summary page is easy -- create a summary report! Use the Layout Wizard to get started with it.
