Can you run a script from an executable application made with FileMaker that you install as a program that will look at the latest data in the remote database (which is not an application), hosted some place else and update the data in the local application? Thanks

There is no way to open a hosted file from a bound solution. However, I believe could do this with an XML import if the database were shared with Filemaker Unlimited.
