Peter Bonte Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 Hello, Having an import problem with a JPG file I work on osX with Fmpro dev 6.04 The file won't import into Filemaker, it isn't even listed in the import list (dimmed). I can open it in all other apps but not in FM. If I resave it with photoshop 7 it works OK. What's wrong with this file? Any info appreciated. http://users.pandora.be/bonte/afbeeldingen/179.%20Trollen%20va%c9ist%20(Front).jpg
stanley Posted October 1, 2003 Posted October 1, 2003 Peter: There is indeed something wrong with that JPEG. I couldn't even drag it out of a browser window to my desktop - behavior I've never seen before. However, once I'd gotten it to my hard drive, I saw the same problem you describe. After simply opening it in Preview and saving a copy, it works fine, though. Just a JPEG corruption issue, which happens sometimes - FileMaker just chokes on certain JPEGs every now and then. I've enclosed the new version for you.
Peter Bonte Posted October 2, 2003 Author Posted October 2, 2003 The strangest thing is when i batch process it with a shareware app the problem persists. I really have to resave it. That
Peter Bonte Posted October 6, 2003 Author Posted October 6, 2003 I have it! Its the extra dot in the name that did it and being from a PC user there is no metadata. PhotoShop apparently adds extra metadata to the PC files so that FM pro can use them.
