How to automate portal row insertion

I am creating a portal for daily attendance. When the user clicks in the first field of the first row and selects a name, I would like to automatically create a new portal row. I am not sure how to do this. I have seen it done before. Please help. Thanks so much. smile.gif

In the relationship's definition, select the option to "allow creation of related records." The portal will now display an empty blank row that you can use to create new related records.

Sorry, I forgot to mention this, but I tried that already and it did not work... Do I have to set something up in the other DB that I am pulling the data from?

Thanks

No, what Vaughan describes is the only thing you'll need to do.

It does not work if the keyfield in the related files is a calculated field though.

And the new blank record appears as last row in the portal; which can be unhandy.

regards,

Ernst.
