Missing Records In Value List

I have a Contact database and a project database. When data is imported into the contact database, the value list in the Project database will not show up till I close FM and restart the computer. On the network this happens only on the Mac OS 9 computers, there is not a problem with the Windows computer. Is there a way to fix this without quitting FM and restarting FM?
