Newbies Mikelwarb Posted November 27, 2003 Newbies Posted November 27, 2003 Can anyone help me? All my schools reports (1800+) are generated in FM Pro 5.5 and printed off for parents - this works well and is much appreciated. However we are now placing them in secure 'files' on the internet in PDF format. They are distinguished, one from another, by a unique number which is in a field within each student's file. Is there an automated way in which the individaul file can be saved with this number as its file name? Thank you, Mike.
Charles Delfs Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Sure, there is always a way ... Print the file (make the pdf) with a constant name, eg: Mypdf.pdf then use protolight's FREE (yes LEE it is FREE - JK) FileToolbox plugin to rename the newly created file to anything you want eg BillySmith2003.pdf Charles
cjaeger Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 or use a batch file/dde execute script (Win, slow) //AppleScript (Mac, where FileToolbox works only in MacOS 9)
Newbies Mikelwarb Posted November 29, 2003 Author Newbies Posted November 29, 2003 Many thanks. Will give it a try. Mike
