How can I activate a VisualBasic script from within Filemaker?

Do you mean VB or VBA? For VB, why not compile it and just run the *.exe with a 'send message' command? If its VBA - in an excel or word macro for example - then just open the document and have the script set to run when the document opens.

You can call VBScript using the Send Message script step on Windows.
