Some fields display the data of the current record in every row of the portal, whereas other fields behave as expected (and display data chronologically). Any suggestions?

You have the wrong relationship selected for the fields that are showing incorrectly. In layout mode, double click the problem fields and change their relationship to match that of the portal.

Everyone gets caught by this at some time or other. Filemaker should give a warning when you put a field in a portal that doesn't have the same relationship as the portal (or it should just set it automatically), because there is never any reason to use any other relationship in a portal other than the portal's own.
