balooka Posted December 18, 2003 Posted December 18, 2003 Hi, I've developed an imagebank for a large client of ours, and it runs fine (local). Now I've made a new solution thats wired to the imagebank so they can check for imagestatus while the enter data. Still works good but now they are moving to another location (outside our own building) so sharing the databases will not be possible anymore using our own LAN. What is the best way to let them connect to the image-database only? The booking solution they take with them is - as stated before - wired to the imagebank, which we host on fm-server (both local and online). Can i set fm to look for a hostfile on a specific IP (and specific name for the DB) without userintervention, just to make sure they won't screw up? -- second question When I access the DB over our LAN it now starts to perform sorts on specific screens. Theres no script running a sort script. Is this caused by 2 portals on the main layout?? TIA JP
