jodibee Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 Hi All, Is there any way to recover a damaged file remotely? I am not our server administrator and often work off site, often when I generate new fields or run scripts remotely, the server seems to freeze or my connection with it, this results in the file being closed down. The culprit file can then not be accessed unless I log a call with my IT support to go and restore the "damaged" file locally on the server. It's a real pain in the butt when my IT support takes several days or weeks to respond to a request...this of course results in some serious down time.
Charles Delfs Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 If your server is win 2000 or better, then login remotly via remote desktop (Terminal services) to fix. Charles
SassyTexan Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 I also, map my drive to the server and restore the damaged file, then use the Administrator connection that came with the FM installation and place it back up there when fixed. You may have to get with your IT folks and see if they will allow you that access.
