Printing updates?

Featured Replies

Hi All

i have been away for a bit (6 months) ...

can you guys tell me if there has been improvements

on printing control. New script steps?

A way to "script" the number of copies?

A way to control which tray to use for a print job?

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan,

Not much has changed within the past six months with respect to the scriptability of printing.

Which is to say that the ability to control any or all of the features you've listed is still dependent on the printer drivers/versions you are using and (in some cases) on the operating system(s) version(s) in use.

Thanks Ray.

So nothing new, no new versions or updates...

FM still functions on the basis of "remembering" a

page set-up with orientatation etc. Still no way to "tell" it

to use this or that printing tray, this number of copies etc.

Thanks

Yes, that's about the size of it.

The most recent update is 6.0v4 which can be obtained from http://www.filemaker.com/support/updaters.html

It's a minor update released some months back (around September IIRC), and does not introduce new features or functionality.

Print parameters are still saved with scripts in the way you're familiar with - and are likely to do so at least until the next major update is released (eg FMP 7, if that's what they do in fact decide to call it).
