Appologies if this has already been posted but when I change my current passwords for some reason some of the settings change as well i.e. access to fields change without me altering them.

Is this a common occurance or am I doing something wrong. It is a real pain when I am changing 128 files and access to fields changes randomly.

All help appreciated.

Something is wrong.

This is not that unusual.

A common practice is to use an auto-enter password at start.

If you change your password, the wrong one gets auto-entered, and you don't have access to restricted layouts.

Another possibility:

Since you cannot change all the passwords at once in a related soulution (unless you use a plugin), some files are open with your old password, others with the new one.

This can severely affect access to (related) fields & functions.

Or maybe just a typo in some of the files?

Then you are lost when reopening the file.

You may have malformed Groups. Assign passwords to only one Group. And when you add a new password and assign it to a Group be sure that you don't have other passwords inadvertantly selected at the same time.
