Do you need to have filemaker server and unlimited together?

We are running unlimited only. All of a sudden none of the updates to the files are available from the web browsers. i.e. from a local client with filemaker there are 512 records. From the web the same file only shows 375 records. We have been running this configuration for over a year now.

Any help as to the problem would be appreciated.

Hi,

It sounds as though you have seperate files working here.

This happens sometimes when you have backups on the machines or maybe when you have been testing you have duplicated files to test on.

Check on all the PC's to make sure that only the one file exists. It sounds to me that you have 2 files on the unlimited machine - one which you are opening when you see 512 records, and another file on the that machine that only contains 375 records which is being hosted on the web.

Hope this helps

Ed

Hi, jimpres! No, you do not need FM Server to serve on the web. Hmm... If EddyB's suggestion doesn't fix it, try checking your permissions. If you are using Access Privileges or the Web Security Database, something may not be configured properly. IMHO, Instant Web Publishing and Custom Web Publishing are very different in web behavior. Plus, the 375 you see of the 512 records may be based on different search criteria. In CWP, your designer may have made a SHOW ALL RECORDS button but that doesn't mean it will. It may have built-in criteria to omit cetain ones or something. Good luck! --ST
