I'm getting married in July. I have a FileMaker database with the guest list, whether they are comign or not, etc. I also have their address info.

However, I would rather have that address info in the OS X Address book and just pull it into FileMaker when I want to print guest list reports, etc.

Is there any way to synchronize between the OS X Address book and Filemaker? I've seen FM2AB but I would like something that would let me relate 1 record in the db to 1 record in the Address Book for the synching.

Thanks

I just had a play around with AddressBook. The vCards can be exported but the file format does not seem to be standard (for databases at least).

Importing into FMP makes a mess, and I cannot get it opened in Excel either.

For the import of vCard and vCal you can use the substitute function.

On Mac OS X, I use the Terminal and grep. But this solution depends on the platform you're working on.

For the sepcifictions of the vCard and vCal, check this good source http://www.imc.org/pdi/

I posted a similar request (see: http://www.fmforums.com/threads/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=UBB13&Number=80931&Forum=,,f13,,&Words=address%20book&Searchpage=1&Limit=25&Main=77575&Search=true&where=bodysub&Name=&daterange=0&newerval=&newertype=&olderval=&oldertype=&bodyprev=#Post80931). I think it's something Apple and FileMaker (they're related, huh?) should work out quickly. Also a solution that links FileMaker to iCal would be useful.
