Newbies 25120221 Posted February 12, 2004 Newbies Posted February 12, 2004 Hi there. I've just moved a fmp solution from an old PC to my new one - 95 to XP - and have a problem getting fmp to find an ODBC data source. Out IT guys have been and installed the Oracle 8 drivers for the database I'm to connect to, but when I go to fmp and try to import - ODBC doesn't even appear as a filetype in the combo box at the bottom of the import dialogue. The data source is configured correctly, and the oracle tester can connect to it. Why does fmp not show ODBC as an option for filetype??? Cheers, G.
Newbies 25120221 Posted February 12, 2004 Author Newbies Posted February 12, 2004 OK - answered my own query. If you do a custom install of fmp - you don't get the odbc bits installed. Stoopid. However. The sql query that chundered away quite merrily for a day on the 95 machine, now crashes XP... I'm beginning to hate my job.
